On the one hand, I’m glad I thought of a good comic idea before it’s no longer relevant. On the other hand…
I had a tough time figuring out which EAD field to use, because I’ve never seen a finding aid that admits to processing errors. Anyone seen one in the wild?
The archives music video project team has decided to use a different song for our first effort. Here, for your enjoyment, are the lyrics to “Archivists Do Gaga.” As always, these are Creative Commons-licensed, so if you want to turn them into a song or video, that would be awesome!
Because no one seems to have understood the last post–we are NOT doing Archives Paradise. I don’t even have all the lyrics for that written. We haven’t picked a song yet. Join the Google group if you want to help.
Instead of posting a comic this week, I want to talk about video.
By now, most of you have probably seen the Librarians Do Gaga video by a bunch of library school kids. And there are tons more videos by library students and librarians.
Archivists, I think we can make a music video too. Go to http://groups.google.com/group/archives-music-video and request an invite if you are interested in helping with production. (Not just interested in watching–that part comes much later!)
I humbly volunteer my services as a lyricist. You can listen to a sample of my work below, and I just finished the full lyrics for Archivists Do Gaga, which I think is a natural choice for our first video.
Clarification: There is no video for Archives Paradise in the works, unless you want to finish the lyrics yourself.
(Original song, original midi. I claim fair use. Please link to this page and not directly to the audio file, thanks!)
