Derangement and Description goes mobile! (sort of)

February 22, 2010

In my other life, I have earned myself a professional development day to go visit another archives, and for the sake of efficiency, I figure I might as well get a comic out of it.

So, if you:

  • are doing neat digital stuff in your archives,
  • have a few hours in March or April to host a visitor,
  • like EAD comics (maybe not a requirement, but who doesn’t, right?),

I would very much like to visit your archives, and come back with notes and photos and sketches, and draw a comic afterwards. Please comment here or email if you are interested!

(Turns out there’s no grant funding for webcomixologists, so I will be biased toward geographic locations served by cheap, sketchy buses and Crash Space for Archivists.)

Archives Idol

Anyone want to join my rap group? It’s called Run EAD, and we rehearse…in the basement.

Get it up, hey! Get your boxes off the ground!

A new home for Crash Space for Archivists

February 3, 2010

A while ago I started Crash Space for Archivists so we could all find housing for conferences. Remember that? Of course you don’t. It was just a standalone Google form, and not that easy to use.¬†Fortunately, those NewArchivist kids have taken over CSFA and made it all fancy. Check it out!

If you have room in your living space for some awesome arrangers, please sign up. New archivists (and not-so-new archivists) would really appreciate it. And if you’re ever at a conference in the Philadelphia area, my house is first on the list.

(Oh yeah, this week’s comic! In progress, I swear…)
