Derangement and concession

July 26, 2009

What gives, archivists? I thought you were all into this Web 2.0 thing. But no one sends in ideas, no one posts on the Facebook page, and no one does anything cool with my comics.

But I have some deranged plans to fix this, including one which I am almost ashamed to announce:

My friends, I have started a Twitter account.

I can hear it now. “But Dee Dee! Aren’t you the one always going on about how Twitter is just a waste of time?” Yup. But to really embrace Web 2.0, you have to go where your users are–and my users, it seems, are all on Twitter.

So now, when I have questions or need suggestions for comics, I will post on Twitter. And when you have a great idea for a comic, you can direct it to me over there (although regular old e-mail still works for that too).

DnD is already the awesomest archives webcomic by default, but I’m pretty sure we can make it EVEN MORE AWESOME.

And finally, a picture worth way more than 140 characters:

A&A: We Know Drama

July 2, 2009

Thanks a lot, archivists. I’m supposed to be on vacation, but y’all are creating drama on A&A again.

Ever seen those Daily Show segments where cute kids read transcripts from cable news and you realize how silly the whole thing sounds? I decided I’m going to do that for A&A, archives-style.

Flickr Commons ftw!

Original here. If your archives has public domain photos of cute kids that you’d like to contribute, please e-mail me.
